Greetings! My name is Michael Parrish. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Both of my parents graduated from Howard University. My older brother graduated from Morehouse College in 2013. I graduated from Detroit Country Day High School in the spring of 2017. I entered Morehouse College, in the fall of 2017, as part of Morehouse’s Dual Degree Engineering Program. This five-year program is a partnership between Morehouse College and a select group of engineering institutions. Upon completion of this program, I will earn a bachelor’s degree from both Morehouse College and the partnering engineering institution. In Fall 2020, I was blessed to be admitted into the Georgia Institute of Technology School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. I am so grateful for this opportunity. I look forward to developing my engineering skills and continuing to grow as an individual. The curriculum I am pursuing at Georgia Tech includes “Distributed System and Software Design” and “Signal and Information Processing”.  I want to become an experienced Software Developer and work closely with innovators that are using emerging technologies to make advancements to address societal needs. I also want to acquire a solid background in cloud computing.
